We just wanted to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy and fun-filled summer. It’s hard to believe the end of the year is here-as the saying goes, time flies when you’re having fun! It’s been a great year in Reception and we’re so proud of the children and how we’ve seen them grow and blossom, ready to start in Year One after a good break.

We hope that you enjoyed the Summer Concert yesterday. The children practised so hard and we’re sure you’ll agree that they put on a wonderful performance. We’ve also enjoyed an end of year party together today with games and more dancing!

Please don’t forget to practise the things suggested on your child’s report during the summer and to keep sharing books together as often as possible, this really will make a difference to your child’s learning and readiness for Year One.

There are lots of exciting things to look forward to in Year One! In September, the children will be visiting a Science Dome at school and will be learning all about dinosaurs. Miss Tinsley and Miss Gajjar have asked us to remind you that children are not allowed to wear leggings or joggers in Year One, trousers, skirts or pinafore dresses only please.

Although it’s always hard to say goodbye, we’ll be filled with pride today as we wave the children off, knowing that they’re super learners who are more than ready to take on the challenges of Year One. Thank you for all of your help and support this year, when we work in partnership it means we can all do the very best for your child.

Enjoy a lovely summer together.
