Here are a few dates for the diary…

Friday 20th September will be our first open classroom session. This is time for parents and carers to come into the classroom after school on a Friday any time between 3.15-3.45. You are welcome to ask the teacher questions, look at your child’s books or get ideas on how to further support learning at home. This will be every Friday until Christmas. (Please be aware that occasionally the day may be changed or session cancelled but this will be on the Y1 notice board and blog).

The following Friday (27th September) will be our first shared reading morning. Parents, grandparents, carers etc will be welcome to come into the classroom between 9-9.15am to read stories with their child.

The children will be walking to church for our Harvest festival service on 3rd October. If you are able to help walk there and back please let your class teacher know.

We really need some parents or carers to come into school once a week to help change the children’s reading books and/or listen to them read. Please speak to your class teacher if you think this is something you can help with, however little time you can give.

Please be aware even after only 2 weeks we have so many items of clothing with no name on, therefore we can not return these item. Please ensure all items are clearly named before they are brought to school.

Thanks Y1 team
