Don’t forget we have shared reading tomorrow morning! (Thursday) We will review this at half term.

We will be changing children’s reading books twice weekly from now on. This will give children the chance to practise their reading with familiar books and build up their fluency.

Home reading books should not be too challenging for the children to also help with their fluency, so please let us know if they are having to sound out every word!

By the time children are in year 2, they should be able to fluently read 90 words a minute.

We would like to offer children the opportunity to borrow a library book as well as their reading book which they will change on their own during their guided reading session. This day will differ for children so please ensure their books are in their book bags every day!

Please let us know if you have any questions!
