Year 2 have had a fantastic half term-we can’t believe how quickly it’s gone!

We are looking forward to sharing all of their wonderful learning with you at our Parent Consultations. (Wednesday 12th February 5-8pm and Thursday 13th February 3.30-5.30pm)

We have loved learning about Castles & Knights and the children have written some fantastic finding tales based upon this topic, as well as Biographies of Billy the Knight and King Arthur. Next half term we will be reading ‘George & the Knight’ as well as other dragon stories.

The children have wowed us with their knowledge of Florence Nightingale and we have already seen some amazing home learning linked to this topic! Thank you for your support with this.

When we return after half term we will be making lamps by applying our understanding of the suitability of different materials. Keep your eyes peeled for pictures!

We have been impressed by the children’s calculation strategies and will continue to build upon these next half term. In the first week back we will be learning to tell the time to the nearest 15 minutes. Please support with this at home.

Our Reading Challenge Term has been a success so far-please continue to read daily at home-the more you read the higher the chance of winning a raffle prize!

We hope you have a wonderful half term with your families!
