Hi all,
It is almost the end of term, so here is a brief look at what the children have been doing in the last few weeks and some important dates for the diary.
The children have been busy this past couple of weeks with science experiments to test forces. In geography, the children have been researching Australia and the Great Barrier Reef. The children have now also finished their class novel Skellig and have written some fantastic finding tales based off of this.
Important dates:
- Non-uniform day – Friday 19th (Please bring a bottle if you’re wearing non-uniform)
- Rounders game between the year 5 classes – Monday 22nd (P.E. kit needs to be brought in as usual)
- Summer concert – Tuesday 23rd (Please bring in costumes for the performance)
- Summer fair – Tuesday 23rd (Each class will be running a stall. Dolphins are running the ‘ice a cake’ stall and Whales will be running the ‘bear in the square’ stall. Children will be expected to help with this for part of the afternoon in order to raise money for the school)
- Last day of term – Wednesday 24th (1.30pm finish. Please encourage children to bring in bags to take home any learning from this year)
Thank you for your continued support.
Year 5 team.
