We kicked off the half term with feel good week, where we did a number of fun activities, including Cosmic Kids Yoga and meditation with lavender eye masks.

Next week is science week! We have lots of fantastic activities planned, including a visit to Rye Meads Nature Reserve. Children will need to wear wellies and a warm coat. Please provide a healthy packed lunch. Children to be dropped off at 9.15am and picked up at 2.30pm. Any problems let us know.

Children have been learning the time, please help them at home as this is an important life skill.

Please continue to read at home at least 4 times a week. Make sure this is recorded in your child’s reading record. Practice spellings and times tables (3,48) as these are tested weekly. TTrockstars is a useful tool.

Thanks for your continued support

Mrs Barton’s Last Day!

Jan
11

Firstly the Year 3 team would like to say a big thank you for the gifts we have received. We hope that you enjoyed the break!

We have had a great week back kicking off with our Harry Potter topic and the children have made a really enthusiastic start. It’s been great to see so many wizards at Wormley School! We will be going to the Warner Brothers Studio on the 25th January where children will be able to learn about set and costume designs.

As you may all be aware I (Mrs Barton) will be leaving today to start my maternity leave. I would like to say I have really enjoyed teaching all the children and will look forward to seeing everyone with the new addition!

Many thanks for your continued support.

Dragons’ Apprentice Car Wash

Dec
7

The Dragons’ Apprentice Challenge is underway again for 2018/19. This year we have another two teams competing: Prestigious Dragons and Ice Dragons. This year the children are raising money for Herts Vision Loss.

So far the Ice Dragons have volunteered their time to pack bags at Tesco and raised over £100 and today both teams worked together to host a car wash for staff. The children raised over £50 thanks to their determination and the generous support from the teachers.  Well done to all the children for getting the job done despite being wet and cold. Special thanks to Mrs Clements for her help with the children today. I hope your hands are warm now too! Thanks also to the parents who helped to organise car wash materials for the day.

Look out for the Prestigious Dragons’ Bake Off Competition which is the final fundraising event for the competition. Information to follow.
