Firstly the Year 3 team would like to say a big thank you for the gifts we have received. We hope that you enjoyed the break!
We have had a great week back kicking off with our Harry Potter topic and the children have made a really enthusiastic start. It’s been great to see so many wizards at Wormley School! We will be going to the Warner Brothers Studio on the 25th January where children will be able to learn about set and costume designs.
As you may all be aware I (Mrs Barton) will be leaving today to start my maternity leave. I would like to say I have really enjoyed teaching all the children and will look forward to seeing everyone with the new addition!
Many thanks for your continued support.
Year 3 team.
The Dragons’ Apprentice Challenge is underway again for 2018/19. This year we have another two teams competing: Prestigious Dragons and Ice Dragons. This year the children are raising money for Herts Vision Loss.
So far the Ice Dragons have volunteered their time to pack bags at Tesco and raised over £100 and today both teams worked together to host a car wash for staff. The children raised over £50 thanks to their determination and the generous support from the teachers. Well done to all the children for getting the job done despite being wet and cold. Special thanks to Mrs Clements for her help with the children today. I hope your hands are warm now too! Thanks also to the parents who helped to organise car wash materials for the day.
Look out for the Prestigious Dragons’ Bake Off Competition which is the final fundraising event for the competition. Information to follow.
A big thank you to all families who took the time to complete our parental survey at the Learning consultation meetings in October. We had a massive response with 179 families completing the survey. The parents’ voice is important to us as we look to further strengthen our partnership with families and improve how we work together for the happiness and success of all our pupils.
The headline results are below. We will look at these results in more detail in a series of communications over the rest of the term.
