We hope you have had a great summer break! To launch our first term, we will be taking a step back in time and learn about the Celts. We launched our topic by visiting the Celtic Harmony Camp where the children became Celtic boys and girls for the day. They learned how to grind wheat to make bread, weaving to make clothes and learned about Celtic clans and how herbs were used to make medicines.

We look forward to giving parents the same experience on our Living History Day.

Children will write a short Celtic story and a non-chronological report on who the Celts were and how they lived.

Maths this term will focus on place value, mental strategies and times tables practice.

Our Science topic for this term is ‘Human digestion’. The children will complete experiments which will help them to understand digestion and how we get nutrients from food.

Please ensure you practise your spellings and times tables as you will be tested on these every Thursday. We will also be checking your reading records so please read a minimum of 4 times to receive reading raffle tickets.

As always, we value helpers with reading, so please let a member of staff know if you are willing to help!
