Next half term there will be a phonics screening for the year 2 children as they missed this in year 1. The date for this is still being confirmed, so please lookout for a text or blog from us next half term telling you when it will be.

About the test:

During this test, children are expected to read real and fake words using their phonics knowledge. Please see the following video, which explains what the test includes.

What you can do:

At the moment children are practising this in school, but any extra help at home would really benefit the children and will help to prepare them. On the google classroom we have posted lots of phonics resources to help the children practise. Below is a video of an example booklet, which you may want to use with the children.
